    Early Childhood Program
    Welcome to the Early Childhood Education Program Enrollment Page
  • The Pittsburgh Public Schools Early Childhood Education Department provides children, birth to five, with a comprehensive program designed to reinforce and respond to the unique strengths and needs of each individual child and family. The fee for the Early Childhood Program is $6,500.00 per academic year. Depending on your family income you may qualify for a Head Start or State funded scholarship. In most cases, these scholarships cover all of the costs. You can find a full list of Early Childhood Program locations on Discover PPS.

    To enroll a child who is between 3-5 yrs. old, please complete the online Early Childhood Application by clicking the link below. Children must be 3 yrs. old by September 30, 2019 to enroll in the Early Childhood Program. If you child turns 5 yrs. old on or before September 30, 2019 you will need to apply for Kindergarten.  For more information about the Preschool Program, please call the Early Childhood Main Office at 412-529-4291 (Press Option 2).


    If you would like to enroll your child in our Early Head Start Program for children under 3 yrs. old, please contact the Early Head Start Coordinator, Sherlyn Harrison at 412-529-8021.

    Our application can be completed from any device that has access to the Internet.  If you don't have access to the Internet, you can apply in person at one of the following Early Childhood Centers (ECE) where a staff person can assist you with applying online.  Please visit one of the following locations:
